LAS VEGAS NV Nov 24 2012 Metro Las Vegas police are still investigating thecase of a security officer who shot and killed a man at a bus stop Wednesdaynight.Police said the security guard, whose name was not released,shot and killed another man about 10:30 p.m. at a bus stop on Rancho Drive, near Craig Road, in thenorthwest valley.
Officer Marcus Martin said the security officer wasconfronted by a man who began taunting him. At some point, the dispute turnedphysical and the security guard shot and killed the man.Martin said the security officer remained at the scene anddetectives are looking for anyone who was at the bus stop.
"We still need to talk to more witnesses," saidMartin, a spokesman.The dead man's name will be released by the Clark Countycoroner's office.
Police do not think that the security guard was on duty andsaid that they do not think that the victim was armed.
The security guard has not been arrested but the caseremains open.
